1000 Times Goodbye

This half of dissention would like to express his great distress at the loss of one of the greatest bands to ever grace the music scene. While Kevin, or anyone else for that matter may not agree, Megadeth we’re one of the last good metal bands left. They helped define their genre, and then took it to new places. The near 20 year career of Megadeth has been cut though. During the first week in January of 2002, Dave was on hiatus from Megadeth in Texas. Though no specific info has been released, I am thinking that some kind of accident caused his injury. That injury being Radial Neuropathy or a compressed radial nerve. This nerve essentially goes from your wrist/hand to your shoulder.

The general consensus is that Dave may not ever play guitar again, let alone go on tour again. Now I know I’m alone on this too, but this is a sad day for guitarists because I believe with all my heart, that Dave was one of the greatest guitarists to ever hold the fucking instrument. Not only did he play fast, he played from his heart. A guy like Eddie Van Halen or Kerry King just plays what sounds right at the time. Dave played from something deeper in his soul. Most of the time it was anger. But as the years progressed, Megadeth matured and Dave became a LITTLE less angry. That’s one of the reasons I look up to a guy like him. I see that he went through similar shit to what I’m going through, and I say he made it that far, I can do it too. Now I know what you all are gonna say…” It could be worse, Dave could be dead.” While that is true, I propose this question to you… If you had been doing something you love for 20 years and then suddenly it was ripped all away, how alive would you feel? Now I don’t really expect any one out there to really understand how much this means to me, not many people put THAT MUCH into a band or their music. But I do, so while to you “it’s no big deal”, to me it was one of the rare occasions I was reduced to tears.

The Megadeth legacy is…

1985 Killing Is My Business…And Business Is Good!
1986 Peace Sells…But Who’s Buying?
