The Sinister Urge - A CD Review

The superbeast is back and better than ever with “The Sinister Urge”. Rob Zombie’s second attempt at a solo album shows that he hasn’t lost a step since his days with White Zombie. With help from metal all-stars like Ozzy Osbourne, Tommy Lee, and (Ugh) Kerry King, Rob Zombie takes it to another level. He hasn’t changed much his musical style, with the exception of a few things. The first is his pseudo-rap in his track with Ozzy “Iron Head”. He tries hard to make it work, but I can’t buy Rob rapping. The other is his song “House of 1000 Corpses”. It begins with sound bites saying things like “reports of cannibalism” and “he was reported to be a necrophealiac.” Some severely twisted shit, but it's cool as hell. Some of the greats that helped his with that track were Alice Cooper, Johnny Ramone, and Sara Karloff. All in all Rob Zombie is still the king of what he does, he gets your adrenaline going and fucks with your head at the same time.

I’m Ken Brzezinski music philosopher and that’s what I think about it.

Sinister Urge's Rating - 3 Stars

The rating system:
4 stars: Essential to everyone's collection.
3 stars: Damn good cd, but not essential.
2 stars: Only for hardcore fans of band/genre.
1 star : Better used as frisbee. File under Spears, Britney.
